RE: Washing your Trailer with what????

Another vote for the RV Wash and Wax, works great for us, we use it 3-4 times a year. Black streaks come right off, works great....we also use it on our boat

RE: Where are you (going) this week?

nowhere this weekend, our seasonal spot is at Mark Twain Lake (and our boat) that is experiencing record flooding and the lake has been closed for all boating and swimming until further notice for the first time in the 24 year history of the lake. :( We were up last weekend to check out the water being released from the dam, going to be 94 Saturday, figured we'd stay home and swim in the pool instead :M It's been a bad summer for boating for sure....

RE: letting the locals in

The seasonal campground we have been at for 4 years has a motel next door, the owner also owns the campground. Twice so far this season guests at the motel have been shooting off fireworks down by the fishing pond late at night, after 10:00. A few people complained (not us we enjoy it) to the owner and he basically told him he can't afford to lose motel guests, there's a waiting list for the camground, don't like it, leave :E but in a nicer way....

RE: "Calling all Seasonal Campers"

I feel very lucky that electric is included in our yearly fee. There was a rumor last year that the owner was going to put in meters, someone pointed out it would cost him a fortune to have them put in and get up to code.

RE: Observing RV's that don't get to go anywhere!

Our seasonal campground is no frills (no pool, etc..) and the trailers never move they stay there year round. However, the owner mows once a week with a riding lawn mower, we bring up the weed eater and trim but that only takes a few minutes. About once every six weeks we spray the lawn for bugs, and also the rocks for weeds. That's all the work we do on the site. All the real work is cleaning the boat and getting it ready to be put back in storage after a weekend on the lake, but we think it's worth it (most of the time!)...

RE: "Vacation Home" or . . . "Camping?"

We keep our trailer at a seasonal site, it never moves. We call it our "redneck vacation home" :C at the lake. I don't really consider the seasonal spot camping, the camground is really like a trailer park neighborhood with awesome neighbors. We camped when we took a tent and supplies to a campground for the weekend. We did that for years, it's alot of work but alot of fun also, sometimes I miss it, we've been talking about getting a cheap pop-up lately so we could visit the Corps of Engineers campgrounds with a spot back in the trees once in a while.

RE: Missouri campers post here

We're from St. Peters, a suburb of St. Louis. We have a seasonal site at Mark Twain Lake 1.5 hrs from home. We own 2 boats (Bass Tracker for fishing, deck boat for fun) and keep them in storage up there and try to get out on the lake as much as possible. When we were tent campers we always stayed at Corps of Engineers campgrounds, they are top notch for sure

RE: Awning

No way, almost every time there is a decent storm someone can be seen dragging their ruined awning to the dumpster.....

anyone else's weekend plans washed out?

The forecast for the weekend up to the last minute was dry and sunny and warm all weekend. We packed and headed up to the seasonal site for a weekend of fun in the sun. Put the boat in a slip at the marina Friday night. Woke up to rain Saturday morning, it rained all day. :( When the rain stopped we got the boat out of the water, dried, covered and back in storage. We packed up and headed home before the rain started again, even the kids wanted to go home. Maybe next time :S

RE: Tax Rebate arrived this morning

Most people don't realize it but it's an advance on next years refund. If you are one of the people that just cut it even or usually owe a little, you should increase your withholding or you'll get a suprise when you owe it back next year!

RE: So E Missouri Camping

The campground at the Shut-Ins is being rebuilt at a different location, no camping there this year....

RE: Seasonal site

Our site had some gravel, we had more delivered and spread it around how we wanted it, outlined with landscape boards. We tack down indoor/outdoor carpet that stays under the awning, with a picnic table sitting on it. Last year I bought an awning mat from Camping World. Looked very nice, water drained right through, easy to wash off with the hose. Within 2 months it had dry rotted and was tearing, obviously not meant to be left outside 24/7 so this year it's back to the indoor/outdoor carpet. Hope this helps

RE: Earthquake

Yep, I was awake and felt it, me and the dog :D. Everything started shaking around, took me about 5 seconds to realize it was an earthquake. Just as I was saying "wow!" to myself it stopped, lasted about 30 seconds from what I could tell. We had an aftershock at 10:15, everyone here at work perked up real quick :E Exciting way to start a day for sure! Kids slept through it, DH says he felt is but didn't realize what it was, went right back to sleep.

RE: 2008 puma

We picked up our brand new 2007 29-FKSS March 17, 2007. We did alot of research before settling on the trailer, and don't regret our choice one bit. Only problem we had with the trailer was the bedroom door needed to be adjusted to close properly, that's it. The price was great ($16,700) for a brand spanking new trailer. Good luck with whatever choice you make!

RE: Who's going out this weekend?

We are finally expecting 62 degrees Saturday and sunny dry weather :C, it's been a long cold winter and spring so far. We're heading up to our seasonal site to dewinterize since the water is finally turned on. We went up for one night 2 weekends ago and stocked with toiletries and other essentials, we still have alot of stuff to take up this weekend, too much according to DH :R. We're all really excited about finally starting the season, DH might actually get to take the fishing boat out on the lake!

RE: Washing EPDM rubber roof

I second the Camco Rubber Roof cleaner, works great for us and no question about it harming the roof or not. We get up there with a sponge mop. Just like mopping a floor, rinse with the hose, doesn't take very long. When we're done we wash the trailer with the wash and wax. Leaves the trailer clean and shiny top to bottom. Good luck

RE: Any Boaters/Cruisers in the Forum?

We store our deck boat at the lake in a stall near our seasonal site. We use it as much as we can, every weekend in the summer, if it's not raining. We spend all day tubing, hanging out at the beach, cruising, then head back to the campground for bbq, fire, beer, friends....I can't wait!

RE: RV Wash & Wax..Do They Really Work?

We use the wash and wax, works great, we also use it on our aluminum hull boat. For the roof, we wash at least twice a year with rubber roof wash specifically for the roof. Ours is a walk on roof, we use a sponge mop, just like mopping a floor.
